Copy these exact settings:

⚠️ Important: Use port 465 for outgoing mail, not 587


Step-by-Step Setup

1. Open BlueMail

  • Launch the BlueMail app on your device
  • If this is your first account: Tap Add Account
  • If you have other accounts: Tap the menu (hamburger icon) → Manage AccountsAdd Account

2. Choose Account Type

  • Tap Other (don't choose any of the preset options like Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)

3. Enter Your Email Address

  • Type your full email address
  • Tap Next

4. Choose Manual Setup

  • BlueMail will try to detect settings automatically
  • Tap Manual Setup instead (don't wait for auto-detection)

5. Select Account Type

  • Choose IMAP (not POP3)
  • Tap Next

6. Enter Your Password

  • Type your email password
  • Tap Next

7. Configure Incoming Server

Server Settings:

  • IMAP Server: imap.emailarray.com
  • Port: 993
  • Security: SSL/TLS

Login Credentials:

  • Username: Your full email address
  • Password: Your email password

Tap Next

8. Configure Outgoing Server

Server Settings:

  • SMTP Server: smtp.emailarray.com
  • Port: 465
  • Security: SSL/TLS

Authentication:

  • Requires Authentication: ✓ (enabled)
  • Username: Your full email address
  • Password: Your email password

Tap Next

9. Account Settings

  • Account Name: Something like "Council Email" (for your reference)
  • Your Name: How you want your name to appear on sent emails
  • Signature: Optional
  • Check mail every: Choose your preferred frequency

Tap Done


Testing Your Setup

  1. Send a test email to yourself or a colleague
  2. Check your Sent folder - the email should appear there
  3. Pull down to refresh and check for new emails

Troubleshooting Common Issues

"Cannot connect to server" Error

  • Double-check incoming server: imap.emailarray.com
  • Verify port 993 and SSL/TLS are selected
  • Confirm your email password is correct
  • Try switching between WiFi and mobile data

"Failed to send message" Error

  • Check outgoing server: smtp.emailarray.com
  • Verify port is 465 (not 587)
  • Ensure SSL/TLS is selected for outgoing
  • Confirm "Requires Authentication" is enabled
  • Check that SMTP username is your full email address

"Authentication failed" Error

  • Make sure username is your full email address for both incoming and outgoing
  • Double-check your password (try typing it in another app first to verify)
  • Verify both servers use the same credentials

BlueMail Crashes During Setup

  • Close and restart BlueMail
  • Try setup again, being careful to select "Manual Setup"
  • If it continues crashing, try clearing BlueMail's cache (Android: Settings > Apps > BlueMail > Storage > Clear Cache)

Emails Not Syncing

  • Pull down on the inbox to manually refresh
  • Go to SettingsAccount Settings[Your Account]
  • Check Sync Frequency and Sync Settings
  • Ensure Push Notifications are enabled if you want instant delivery

Certificate/Security Warnings

  • If you see warnings about server certificates, tap Accept or Continue
  • This is normal for many mail servers
  • Your connection will still be secure

Can't Find Sent Emails

  • Go to SettingsAccount Settings[Your Account]
  • Tap Folder Settings
  • Ensure Sent folder is mapped correctly
  • Try refreshing the folder list

Duplicate Emails Appearing

  • This can happen during initial sync
  • Go to SettingsAccount Settings[Your Account]
  • Tap Advanced Settings
  • Enable Delete duplicates if available

Checking Settings Later

To verify or change settings after setup:

  1. Open BlueMail
  2. Tap menu (hamburger icon)
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Account Settings
  5. Select your email account
  6. Tap Server Settings to check incoming and outgoing configuration
