iPhone / iPad Mail App Setup (cPanel Email)

Use the exact settings below — iOS Mail may try to auto-fill incorrect values:

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Open iPhone Settings

  • Go to Settings

  • Scroll down and tap Mail

  • Tap Accounts

  • Tap Add Account

2. Choose Account Type

  • Tap Other

  • Tap Add Mail Account

3. Enter Your Account Info

  • Name: What recipients will see on your emails

  • Email: Your full email address

  • Password: Your email password

  • Description: Any name you want (e.g. “Council Email”)

  • Tap Next

4. Configure Incoming Mail Server

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomainnamehere

  • Username: Your full email address

  • Password: Your email password

5. Configure Outgoing Mail Server

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomainnamehere

  • Username: Your full email address

  • Password: Your email password

  • Tap Next

6. Save and Finish

  • iPhone will verify the settings (this may take a moment)

  • Tap Save when finished


Optional: Adjust Advanced Settings

To confirm port numbers and SSL settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts

  2. Tap your email account

  3. Tap your account name again

  4. Scroll to Advanced

Check these values:

  • Incoming Uses SSL: Enabled

  • IMAP Port: 993

Go back to the previous screen and tap SMTP to check:

  • Outgoing Uses SSL: Enabled

  • SMTP Port: 465


Testing Your Setup

  • Send a test email to yourself

  • Confirm it appears in both Inbox and Sent folders

  • Ask someone to send you a reply and check it arrives


Troubleshooting Common Issues

❌ "Cannot Verify Server Identity"

  • Tap Continue if prompted

  • Make sure you used the correct server name: mail.yourdomainnamehere

  • This can happen if SSL is on but the certificate isn’t issued for your domain — it’s safe to accept in most cases
