*UPDATED 19th July 2022

Whilst the delivery problems continue from as far back as November last year, it appears that Royal Mail have now voted to take industrial action. In light of this we anticipate that the already fractured service that we currently receive will only deteriorate further and so we urge Councils that still pay by cheque to consider other methods of payment in order to comply with the prompt payment act  https://www.gov.uk/guidance/prompt-payment-policy

Royal Mail are again announcing delays beyond a week with U.K. mail.

With this in mind we urge our councils to pay annual fees and especially domain renewals by bank transfer instead of cheques to avoid interruption of service. If you must issue a cheque then please use a next day delivery service to avoid service disruption.

Most councils have made the transition already during Covid however some councils do still issue cheques. If a domain is due for renewal it is automatically renewed once payment is received.
